Louisville Zoo Pictures: Lorikeets

This exhibit is by far my favorite place to visit at the Louisville Zoo. You can feed the birds nectar, and they will land on your head, purse, shoulders, or anywhere! This time when we went, the birds were bathing. I got a few pictures of it!

Louisville Zoo Pictures

My family and I went to the Louisville Zoo a few days ago to give me a chance to play with my new lens, a 100-300 mm zoom lens by Canon. I was thrilled with the lens, and the pictures that I was able to get. I will try to post more over the next few days.

Driving Through Farmland in the Rolling Hills of Kentucky

This little road leading to the red barn is burned into my memory. It reminded me of home; the sound of the wind whipping the grass and cows mooing as a storm blew over the horizon seemed altogether familiar to me. I know that I had never been there before, but I loved that strange feeling and sat there for some minutes simply enjoying the feeling of belonging I felt looking down this little lane.

But who knows why we have feelings that can't be explained? I really don't know, so perhaps I should lay off the sentimental sidenotes and just stick to taking pictures.

Japenese Vase

Another friend brought me back this precious vase from Japan, it reads 'God loves me.'

Japanese Fan

A few friends of mine went to Japan recently on a mission trip. One of them brought me back this lovely blue fan.

The Red River Gorge

On spring break, I went to the Red River Gorge and Daniel Boone National Park. I had a marvelous time! The views were beautiful; my camera and I were quite content.

These stairs descended into a little place called Fat Man's Squeeze, which is a fancy name for a crack between the Natural Bridge and another rock. The day was very warm, but when we walked through the crack, the air felt like a cave, very cold and damp. It was a tight squeeze for one of the travellers who wore her backpacking backpack.

The speed limit inside the National Park was 23 mph in some places. My question is why 23?
